Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer and songwriter, whose stories of young heartache achieved widespread recognition in the beginning of the 21st century. Swift discovered a love for musical instruments as a young person and quickly progressed from playing in children's shows and then making her first public appearance front of an audience. The moment Swift performed The Star-Spangled Banner in front of an Philadelphia 76ers match at age 11, she was already writing songs. In the following year, she took up guitar. Swift was inspired to write her own material by country music artists genre such as Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. Swift relocated from Pennsylvania along with her parents to Hendersonville, Tennessee when she was 13 years old to dedicate more time to reaching out to the country music labels.
