Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American singer and musician, is well known for her music. She is also the very first and youngest female to win the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka is the emerging star of Indian sitar. She is the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. Born in London, she spent the first few years of her life moving between London and New Delhi. Her debut concert was in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. At the age of 13, she finished her high school education at Encinitas CA. Although she is still very young, Anouskha has an impressive performing and recording career. She often joins her father on stage, which she has been doing for a number of years. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy Nominated Live at Carnegie Hall. Alongside performing at many of the biggest venues, she also is a stage performer for a lengthy time. Anoushka isn't only a singer. In 2002, she released the book Bapi The love of My Live this is a picture-based biography, which is a respect to her dad Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as the role of a Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her career and there will be many other things to be expected from this amazing woman. Anoushka Shakar, who was born in England spent a large part of her time between London Delhi. When she moved to California she graduated from high school. At the age of nine, she began studying music under her father, who made her first on the sitar four years later during his birthday party in Delhi. Anoushka was able to gain many valuable experiences when she accompanied her father on his world tour. It included performances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concerts in addition to performing alongside George Harrison. She was the first woman to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament to recognize her talent and musicianship within performing in the Asian Arts.
